Job Title: Growth & Structured Finance Director

Location: Birmingham, Bristol or London

Salary: Circa £115,000 DOE

Hours: Full time

Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of your time, at our above offices.

About This Opportunity:

Our Commercial Banking division has business clients across a wide variety of sectors - from small businesses to multinational corporations. We have an exciting opportunity to join our highly successful Growth & Structured Finance team providing outstanding support and having a real impact for SME & Mid Corporate businesses across the UK. The Growth & Structured Finance team has been growing since established in 2023 and is a meaningful part of our strategy for 2025 and beyond.

We're looking for a Director to join our team to help originate, structure, and implement more complex/leveraged debt facilities for SME & Mid Corporate clients and prospects. The team will transact a range of funding requirements which will vary in complexity including MBOs, Mergers & Acquisitions and funding for growth especially where the bank does not see lending covered in full by traditional assets.

Within a strong team of successful professionals, this is a phenomenal opportunity for someone to join a high performing team. As a senior colleague within the Commercial Banking Coverage business, you'd be a key part of our market presence, developing key business opportunities and representing the Group with Senior Stakeholders across the professional community.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Promote high quality deal execution by over-seeing an efficient client, credit and diligence/legal process for successful deal completion through the in depth understanding of the client and the request.
  • Leadership responsibilities include acting as a role model and supporting the learning and development of Relationship Directors/Managers across the Commercial Banking Coverage business, providing regular constructive feedback and assisting development.
  • Internal networking and relationships with colleagues in the Coverage business, Specialist Commercial Banking Clients, Credit and Client Products will be a key contributor to the team’s success.
  • Developing and demonstrating good relationships with debt advisors and the professional community is a key part of this role.
  • Influencing and crafting our overall proposition to market, driving investment in the right direction and providing long term support for our customers.

What you’ll need:

  • Outstanding financial analysis and credit skills
  • A background in the corporate finance market with significant experience of cashflow lending, debt origination and structuring
  • Experience of optimally operating within the SME segment (£5m-£50m turnover businesses).
  • Strong communication, leadership and project management skills
  • Can evidence a strong external network and presence in the marketplace
