About this opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quality Engineer in the Customer Waterfront Lab to help us expand our Scottish Widows Digital Platform working across mobile and web applications.

As a Quality Engineer in the Customer Waterfront Lab, you’ll ensure our code meets high standards through both automated and manual testing. Your goal is to strengthen BDD practices across the team for consistent quality assurance.

You’ll cover functional, accessibility, security, compatibility, and performance testing, using metrics and customer insights to enhance user experiences.

Working in an Agile, end-to-end feature team, you’ll collaborate with engineers, managers, architects, and product owners to design effective solutions and tests, helping us deliver outstanding software.

Your main tasks will be:

  • Perform various types of testing, including exploratory, functional, accessibility, security, compatibility, performance, and automated tests.
  • Build skills through formal and informal training.
  • Help write detailed test plans and reports to show software quality.
  • Define test data needs and work closely with external teams across the Platform.

We’re on an exciting journey and there couldn’t be a better time to join us. The investments we’re making in our people, data, and technology are leading to innovative projects, fresh possibilities, and countless new ways for our people to work, learn, and thrive.

What you’ll need

  • Knowledge of React.js, microservices, NodeJS, and BDD best practices.
  • Experience with automated testing tools like Newman, Playwright, BurpSuite, or Performance Center.
  • Interest in DevOps automation tools (Jenkins, GIT, Docker).
  • Motivation to use modern Agile practices.
  • Enthusiasm for cloud transformation projects.
  • Strong communication skills to present ideas and guide others.
