About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Manager in the Business & Commercial Banking (BCB) Chief Controls Office (CCO) Specialist Regulatory Controls Team, you'll be a subject matter expert in the Group’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) and Operational Risk Management Toolkit (ORM). Your role will enable BCB to manage risks effectively and efficiently, collaborating with all three lines of defence (3LOD) to ensure that frameworks and policies are clear, effective, and practical for BCB.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team and play a key role in helping BCB achieve its strategic ambitions. Working within the CCO offers ample opportunities for involvement in a diverse range of engaging control programs, initiatives, and activities.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Collaborate with CCO leadership to deliver Resetting Risk changes and improvements, ensuring applicability for BCB and alignment with the Group’s ERMF.
  • Serve as an expert in the ERMF, enabling BCB to manage risks effectively and efficiently in collaboration with all 3LOD, ensuring frameworks and policies are clear, effective, and practical.
  • Lead and manage timely reporting on the efficiency and performance of controls and compliance, maintaining high data quality, completeness, and accuracy of monitoring activities. Leverage insights on controls to identify issues and deliver remedial actions as appropriate. Support Group-wide risk activities, such as Scenario Analysis.
  • Drive BCB's RCSA hierarchy, ensuring high risk and control data quality, with a focus on creating a more preventative and automated control environment.
  • Provide training and support to BCB Risk and Control Owners on the application of the Framework and supporting tools.

  • Proven experience of contributing to the development or improvement of operational risk frameworks by providing clear, actionable requirements that reflect business needs.
  • Shown ability to build effective working relationships with key contacts across BCB and other business functions (e.g., CIB, GCOO, Risk Division).
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task, sometimes having to deliver within tight timeframes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to disseminate technical information effectively.
