LOCATION(S): London, Chester or Leeds

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time at an office hub mentioned above.

About the role

Here in the Embedded Finance team, we're a start-up business unit within Lloyds Banking Group Consumer Lending and are tasked with building out propositions that solve customers’ financial needs, when and where they are.

We seek people with a desire to learn, an ability to build thought-partnerships with a broad range of specialists across functions, and the patience and resilience to implement strategies that will evolve with changing customer, market and regulatory contexts.

What you'll be doing

We're looking for a Senior Strategy & Partnerships Manager to help us define and deliver the next growth phase for Embedded Finance. In this role, you'll shape our strategy and develop external partnerships to build future embedded finance products and propositions. You'll identify and evaluate new commercial opportunities, achieve buy-in from senior stakeholders, and drive prioritization.

Your responsibilities will include employing strategic thinking with an innovative approach to analyze gaps and opportunities in the B2B2C space. You'll build a deep understanding of customer needs and market opportunities to shape our product roadmap, engage with external partners and consultants to stay updated on emerging technologies and solutions, and perform commercial due diligence by analyzing financial and investor reports and market intelligence. Additionally, you'll develop financial models to interrogate opportunities, build business cases and plans, and lead programs of work to turn ideas into tangible concepts that can be quickly validated.

What you’ll need

  • Experience of developing business strategies, ideally with a management consulting background

  • Experience of consumer lending and Buy Now Pay Later market

  • Strong commercial attitude with the ability to understand markets and develop solutions with third parties.

  • Curiosity for open banking and new product innovation

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to influence collaborators, build consensus, and manage conflicting priorities

  • Tenacity and resilience to drive the business through the complexities of innovation and change.

About working for us

Our focus is to ensure we're inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms.

We want our people to feel that they belong and can be their best, regardless of background, identity or culture.

We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and a dedicated Working with Cancer initiative.

And it’s why we especially welcome applications from under-represented groups.

We’re disability confident. So if you’d like reasonable adjustments to be made to our recruitment processes, just let us know.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%

  • An annual performance-related bonus

  • Share schemes including free shares

  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping

  • 30 days holiday, with bank holidays on top

  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies

If all of this resonates, and you want a job with big meaning, then please do get in touch to discuss!
