JOB TITLE: Quality Engineer

LOCATION(S): Edinburgh or Leeds

SALARY: £47,790 - £58,410

HOURS:  Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of the above locations.

About this opportunity

IP&I, Accumulation - Workplace Savings provides Testing Services to quality assure testing delivered by our partner team, 3rd party testing team, and LTC Test Team, through innovation and automation, driving excellence in testing.  
 
Join us as a Quality Engineer, with knowledge, you'll use your technical skills to support the delivery of quality software solutions into production. You’ll be continually challenged, motivated, mentored and supported to develop your skills and bring forward the best solutions to conduct effective testing. You'll work collaboratively with other team members, partners and third parties to create empowered teams who are motivated to solve business problems and realise value to customers. 

You will be technically literate, experienced in automated and manual testing processes, keen to learn, able to communicate well, with an interest in ensuring quality services are delivered for customers and colleagues. The role will focus on co-ordination across multiple 3rd party & LBG teams, with some requirement for manual test. A willingness to get stuck in and learn on the job is essential. 
 

Here’s how you’ll make a difference: 

  • Design and build robust, maintainable, and modular automation suites 

  • Develop and extend frameworks, templates, and test scripts 

  • Understand and write the test data requirements, collaborating closely with the external teams across the Value Stream and beyond 

  • Write detailed Test Scopes, Test Plans and End of Test Reports, evidencing the quality of the software we ship

  • Complete some exploratory testing alongside automated testing 

  • Help decide what and how to monitor & alert on for new functionality

What you’ll need

  • You are passionate about helping to assure high quality software.

  • You want to work in an agile way.

  • You appreciate test engineering best practice.

  • Knowledge on current automation trends/tooling, with domain expertise to improve & build our current automation suite and our speed to market. 

  • Experience implementing a Playwright / Typescript framework with hands-on experience designing and executing tests. 

  • You are aware of non-functional as well as the functional aspects of quality.

  • Experience of Defect Management, Incident Management, Root Cause Analysis and/or Config Management working with multiple JIRA boards & different status would be advantageous.

  • You have effective communication skills and can clearly present ideas to others.
