Salary: £104,686 - £123,160 
Location: London, 
Hours:  Full time  
Working Pattern: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site

About this opportunity… 

Exciting opportunity for a Lead Solution Architect to join our Commercial Lending Platform to orchestrate complex solution architectures with a broad architectural significance for key outcomes or epics by defining the architectures and designs that deliver our key outcomes aligning with our technology strategy.

What you’ll do 

  • Lead the solution architecture for complex products, ensuring delivery meets customer needs as well as quality, resilience, financial, and technical requirements. 

  • Establish and maintain a forward-looking perspective on solution architecture within the QBR planning horizon to support product roadmaps. Address currency, technical debt, key outcomes, and epics by preparing technical activities that enable teams to meet architectural objectives in alignment with product vision. 

  • Analyse options and implementation approaches to propose solutions and designs using suitable architectural components that deliver updated architectures. 

  • Ensure compliance with architectural standards, practices, principles, and patterns while contributing to local standards as needed.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to engineering teams and other solution architects regarding architectural solutions. 

  • Ensure solutions fulfil resilience, security, and scalability requirements, and adhere to enterprise architecture and technology strategy. 

  • Identify and manage risks related to solution architecture, resolving them through architectural or agile methodologies. 

  • Maintain and update technical expertise to offer appropriate oversight and remain informed about industry trends and best practices. 

  • Work collaboratively with architects, engineers, and application specialists across the platform to develop robust and scalable solutions.  

  • Line Manages Solution Architects across the lab 

  • Oversee solution design throughout the delivery lifecycle while supporting alignment with product goals.  

  • Translate business requirements into technology architectures consistent with strategic objectives. 

 

What you’ll need  

  • Proven track record in delivering Digital Transformation Solutions. 

  • Strong comprehension of solution and software architecture patterns, going across public and private cloud  

  • Experienced in establishing and managing environments leveraging Agile Architecture, including both Emergent and Intentional architecture methodologies. 

  • Expertise in leading Architectural Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance initiatives. 

  • Comprehensive experience throughout all phases of the solution development lifecycle, from inception to production deployment. 

  • In-depth awareness of the implications of system design decisions on scalability, resilience, and supportability. 

  • Competence in evaluating deployment opportunities for third-party solutions, including knowledge of vendor assessment and selection best practices. 

 

It would be great if you also had: 

  • Understanding of Data Architecture including management of confidential data. 

  • Delivering against company and industry guidelines and regulations e.g. cyber security and data protection. 

  • Experience with event driven architectures like Kafka 

  • Familiarity with Architectural Frameworks such as TOGAF, Archimate, Cloud Architectures, or comparable frameworks. 

  • Previous involvement with Mobile native development, cross-platform/hybrid applications, API Gateway Management, and microservices.
