JOB TITLE: Lab Product Owner, Consumer Lab - Transport Platform

LOCATION: Newport/Cardiff

SALARY: £104,992 - £123,520

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days per week) in one of our office hubs mentioned above

About this opportunity

As one of the UK’s largest vehicle-funding companies (over 1.1m vehicles on the road are funded or leased by us), we’re using our size and influence to lead the charge to accelerate the transition to sustainable transport and are now responsible for funding 1 in 8 Electric Vehicles on UK roads.

Through our three specialist Brands – Black Horse, Lex Autolease and Tusker – we’ve created one of the industry’s broadest customer propositions, enabling us to massively increase the accessibility and affordability of greener vehicles. However, providing access to funding is one thing; to truly drive the sustainability agenda and achieve net zero, we need to collaborate with industry, government and partners, whilst educating, empowering and engaging customers to accelerate the transition to Electric Vehicles.

We're looking for a Lead (Lab) Product Owner for the Consumer Lab to join our team. Someone who is future focused, able to inspire others through integrity and collaboration, demonstrating an inclusive approach. You'll build teams with skills aligned to our Group Strategy and purpose creating new and better ways to change at pace.

In this senior leadership role, you'll work closely with the Head of Engineering for the Consumer Lab and be responsible for defining the Product Vision for personal customers, shaping and delivering a backlog of simple & complex customer focused journey changes and proposition enhancements which enable the Transport Growth strategy through leading cross-functional, agile delivery teams.

About us

Join us and, as well as making a difference to customers, you’ll enjoy a fulfilling career where you’re free to be yourself. Great colleagues, transforming workspaces, hybrid working and a wide variety of career opportunities – you’ll find them all here.

Key responsibilities for the role

  • Define the vision – own the Transport Platform roadmap and outcomes, with a focus on accelerating sustainable transport and the transition to EVs.

  • Turn strategy into action – shape and deliver a clear backlog of customer-focused improvements that make greener transport more accessible.

  • Inspire and lead teams – build, coach and empower colleagues to deliver at pace while growing their skills and careers.

  • Collaborate for impact – work with partners across industry, government, and the Group to align efforts and scale solutions.

  • Ensure excellence – oversee governance, compliance and business readiness while driving continuous improvement.

  • Balance priorities – manage resources, budgets and trade-offs to maximise value for customers, the Group, and society.

  • Act as a visible leader – champion innovation, sustainability and customer focus across the business.

What you’ll need

  • Customer focus with a sustainability edge – able to anticipate evolving customer needs and shape propositions that support the shift to greener transport.

  • Strategic product leadership – experience defining and delivering product vision and roadmaps in complex or fast-moving industries.

  • Agile approach – confident in agile ways of working, bringing ideas to life quickly and adapting to new technologies and market trends.

  • Collaboration & influence – strong ability to work across teams, industry partners and government stakeholders to deliver aligned outcomes.

  • People leadership – proven track record of inspiring and developing high-performing, diverse teams.

  • Commercial awareness – skilled at balancing growth, efficiency and environmental impact to maximise value.

  • Compelling communicator – able to translate complex issues like EV transition and sustainability into clear, motivating messages.

  • Inclusive leadership – committed to creating a culture where every colleague feels valued, supported and able to thrive.

  • Transport and/or customer domain knowledge - Has knowledge and experience of the Automotive sector or direct experience of building great B2B2C propositions for personal customers and/or strategic partners. Understands key industry trends, competitor assessment and how technology can be used to deliver value for our customers.
