JOB TITLE: Lead Quality Engineer

SALARY: £104,686 - £123,160

LOCATION: London

HOURS:  Full time 

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our London Gresham Street office location

As Lead Quality Engineer, you’ll shape technical solutions, lead engineering practices, and collaborate closely with product and engineering teams. You’ll play a key role in ensuring high-quality software delivery aligned with our engineering transformation strategy.

What you’ll need 

  • Good Quality Engineering and Test Management experience across the entire test lifecycle.

  • A transformation mentality, leading and driving transformation opportunities to support agility, capability-building, and the wider Engineering Transformation Strategy.

  • An understanding of the importance of testing and the Quality Framework within LBG and the ability to educate other change teams.

  • Ability to lead your team to align with strategic tooling & approaches and strive for excellence through quality and innovation.

  • Ability to work pro-actively to embed QE standard methodologies on various technology stacks.

  • Experience in test automation, user acceptance testing, mocking and test data management

  • An understanding of wider testing approaches & tooling including security, performance, chaos & contract testing.

  • An understanding of systems design considerations such as security, cloud, event-driven systems, microservices, resilience, automation & SRE.

  • Shift left solutions and expanding the current capability are a must.

It would be great if you also had:

  • Desirable skills would be Cypress, Playwright, Karate, Jenkins , Github. Selenium, Applitools

  • At least one desktop/mobile cloud tool testing experience such as perfecto, BrowserStack or SauceLabs for compatibility testing

  • A deep understanding of Java / JavaScript / NodeJS / Postman / TDD / BDD Best Practices

  • Hands-on experience with Java / JavaScript test automation programming and capable of building test frameworks from scratch in an agile environment.

  • Strong experience in Appium, WebdriverIO , Cucumber and API automation solutions such as  RestAssured / Karate / Postman.
