LOCATION: London

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our London office.

About this opportunity…

A great opportunity has arisen to be part of a team within our Instant Payments team working as a Senior Product Owner, you’ll play a key role in our continued journey by: 

  • Helping to define and deliver a compliant and efficient payments service for our Customers across the UK enabling them to move money confidently, quickly and securely.

  • Build our Payments capabilities for the Group and drive innovation across our customer journeys using Cloud and Software as a Service (SaaS).

We're looking to recruit a Senior Product Owner (PO) who will bring to life Instant Payments of the future, create an environment in which people reach their full potential and a culture where innovation and experimentation are encouraged. What you’ll do…

  • Defining Faster Payments product vision and strategy.

  • Prioritising, refining, and managing the product backlog.

  • Bridging the gap between strategy and development, responsible for translating the strategic vision into actionable tasks for the development team.

  • Leading multiple faster payments feature teams, ensuring that your teams are working on the right priorities and progressing towards the outcomes that you have defined and agreed with stakeholders.

  • Role modelling a customer-centric approach and creating phenomenal customer outcomes through deep understanding of customers’ needs.

  • Building strong relationships across areas of the Bank and partner teams and deliver through collaboration, while being an inclusive standout colleague at all levels.

What you’ll need…

  • Product Ownership - ability to define and communicate a clear product vision and strategy. This involves understanding market trends, customer needs, and aligning the product roadmap with business objectives. Understanding the full product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and beyond, is a key competency. This ensures that products meet market needs and deliver exceptional value to customers 

  • Product Delivery - Leads improvements on product development process and delivery using new methodology, techniques, tools, etc. Shapes the direction for cross-functional teams to deliver products in innovative delivery methods.

  • Customer Centricity - Promotes value of customer outcomes with team and peers and ensures work efforts achieve these. Anticipates customer’s needs and uses

  • Effective communication with stakeholders – This is a crucial part of the role and includes managing expectations, negotiating priorities, and ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned with the product goals 

  • Managing product backlogs – This is a core responsibility and involves prioritizing features and tasks to ensure that the development team is focused on delivering the highest value 

  • Data Analysis - The ability to collect and analyse data, solve complex problems, and make informed decisions is essential. This ensures that the product development process is data-driven and aligned with customer needs 

  • Agile Experience - A deep understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies is necessary. This includes creating and prioritizing product backlogs, planning sprints, and facilitating Scrum ceremonies 

  • Leadership - Leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams is a key skill. This involves guiding the development team, fostering a collaborative environment, and ensuring that everyone is working towards common goals

  • Solving real world problems and being comfortable working in a complex regulated environment.

  • Payment Services within a Financial Services environment.
