LOCATION: Edinburgh

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

About this opportunity: Join a team that blends deep technical expertise with hands-on problem solving, where you'll support a critical vendor platform and help deliver resilient, secure, and customer-focused solutions in the Asset Finance space.

Asset Finance sits within Lloyds Banking Group’s Commercial Lending Platform and is responsible for supporting a vendor-managed platform that underpins our Asset Finance operations.

This team ensures the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of services that support customer and colleague experiences across the asset finance lifecycle. As a Technical Application Specialist, you’ll work closely with vendors, engineering teams, and change delivery colleagues to manage incidents, support releases, and contribute to automation, observability, and service enhancements.

You’ll also help maintain integrations, support business-as-usual events like DR and penetration testing, and ensure the platform continues to meet evolving business needs.

Day to day, you’ll:

Configuration & Integration

  • Understand how third-party systems interact to enable enterprise-wide data flow.

  • Tailor systems to meet Group requirements, increasing automation and security.

  • Articulate business challenges and operationalise information effectively.

  • Create and update workflows to support evolving customer journey requirements.

  • Managing application configuration

  • Manage user access and permissions, ensuring appropriate security and compliance.

  • Develop and maintain unit tests to support robust and reliable solutions.

  • Support quality engineers with automation testing and contribute to writing automation tests as required.

Technical Delivery

  • Assist in project planning, requirements analysis, design, coding, and testing.

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of technical solutions.

  • Create technical documentation for projects and solutions.

  • Participate in discovery efforts to understand business and technical requirements.

  • Assist in the development of prototypes to validate concepts and contribute to solution design.

Technical Operations

  • Independently handle routine specialist tasks and troubleshooting.

  • Use scripts, tools, and basic technical skills to investigate and manage issues.

  • Escalate issues with support or guidance as needed.

  • Manage the end-to-end release cycle for technical applications, including planning, coordination, and execution of releases.

  • Track product versioning and ensure accurate documentation and communication of changes.

  • Understand how products are hosted, including system architecture and infrastructure requirements.

  • Maintain awareness of system requirements and ensure compliance throughout the release process

Values & Behaviours

  • Stay updated with emerging trends and apply technical knowledge to solve problems.

  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.

  • Contribute ideas in team brainstorming sessions.

  • Begin to guide and support less experienced team members.

  • Demonstrate a growth mindset and embrace diverse viewpoints.
