JOB TITLE: Private Cloud Infrastructure Specialist

SALARY: £70,929 - £78,810

LOCATION(S): Leeds or Manchester

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our locations noted above.

We're looking for Infrastructure Specialists to join our Private Cloud Platform. 

You’ll have a unique opportunity to be part of an ambitious team with the purpose of driving our tech modernisation agenda and enable us to become the biggest Fintech in the UK.

We're seeking a highly experienced, motivated and innovative hands-on Infrastructure Specialists to play a pivotal role in leading and shaping the technical direction of our team.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in infrastructure engineering and a passion for technology. Commitment to delivering high-quality, scalable solutions is a must. Our Compute, Storage & Networking team has roles across all three capabilities.  You will have worked hands-on and broadly across one or multiple of these areas:

  • Virtual machine infrastructure development/management (with a preference for VMware ESXi)

  • Virtual machine infrastructure networking development/management (with a preference for VMware NSX networking)

  • Virtualisation platform automation (with a preference for VMware Aria Automation)

  • Storage infrastructure management (with a preference for Dell and NetApp storage products

Day to day, you'll:

  • Lead the architectural design of infrastructure platform technologies and products across our ecosystem.

  • Be hands-on, working on building and maintaining our hybrid products and services in your specialist area

  • Lead technical conversations with partners of varying levels of technical background, including Senior Management and other Domain Experts

  • Be a great collaborator across internal, external, and 3rd party teams

  • Drive best-in-class approaches to automation and security

  • Have the ability to provide education and mentorship covering infrastructure engineering topics to support different teams on those topics, and drive upskilling

  • Be an SME in a particular aspect of infrastructure engineering, bringing your skills to our specialist teams whilst working to expand your knowledge across the hybrid cloud platform

What you’ll need

Expertise in a hybrid cloud environment specialising in one or more of the following technologies:


• VMware (including NSX and VMware ARIA suite)
• Storage (SAN, NAS, vSAN)
• Networking (DHCP / DNS / Firewalls / Load Balancing)
• Automation Tooling (Chef / Terraform / Ansible / Salt)

Demonstrate experience of
• Developing, Supporting & leading enterprise infrastructure systems
• Designing or contributing to solutions for a Hybrid Cloud Environment
• Defect management and technical fault-finding
• Performance optimisation
• Security best practice and compliance standards
• Problem solving and communication skills

• Mentoring colleagues and supporting technical development of other
• Agile ways of working

Any experience of these would be really useful
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
• Azure VMware Solution (AVS)

• Databases (MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
• Operating Systems (Windows & Linux)
