JOB TITLE: Head of Strategic Growth and Transformation - Loans
LOCATION: Chester, Edinburgh, Manchester or Newport
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site

We’re currently the UK’s number one provider of personal loans, supporting customers to achieve their aspirations with unsecured personal loans and help them understand their affordability through innovative customer experiences with Your Credit Score.
We’re looking for an experienced leader who can bring significant experience in designing and executing product and proposition strategies, transforming the way we think about loans and driving commercial growth. We want our future propositions to be bold so you’ll need to be innovative, transformational and be comfortable to proactively work with stakeholders across the Group to evolve and develop our future propositions.
Day to day you’ll be;
Defining and supporting the delivery of a six-year strategic roadmap to grow the Loans business aligned with LBG’s broader commercial objectives.
Leading the investment case and growth plans for Loans initiatives driving continued growth and transformation of the business in line with these plans. Proactively collaborating with the wider Loans product, pricing and platform teams.
Using market driven insights to maintain a strong understanding of customer needs, technology enablers, market dynamics, regulatory developments, and competitor trends.
Making informed risk decisions and ensure products follow regulations such as Consumer Duty, while running risk and controls effectively.
Building strong relationships with the Loans Product and Platform teams who are responsible for product execution and ensure product strategies are executed to plan and within budget.
Define strategic product initiatives, commercialise technology and optimise business processes, implementing digital strategies, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous growth.
Supporting on Business Platform direction and activities linked to optimizing the Loans technology transformation journey.
Collaborating with the Technology and Business Platform Lead to optimise technology and development roadmap
Providing regular updates to key stakeholders and presenting at executive committee meetings. This may include deputising for the Loans MD (when necessary) at key committees.
Leading, empowering and developing colleagues to build a high-performing team, encouraging and embedding new, agile and innovative practices.
Key Capabilities, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Consumer Insight is essential. Having a deep understanding of what our customer needs are is critical for this role.
Strong transformation experience with a good understanding of how to leverage Technology as a key enabler to business.
You’ll also have a broad understanding of the competitor landscape, customer behaviour and emerging products and technologies to improve and drive an exceptional customer experience.
You’ll be a confident problem solver, able to make good and timely decisions informed by data to make evidence based decisions. You’ll keep the organisation moving forward, skilfully balancing difficult trade-offs to understand and assimilate different sources of data and sophisticated information – putting the customer at the heart of what you do!
You’ll be an expert collaborator and clear communicator. Brilliant at developing and positively influencing relationships to ensure progression of key business decisions that will support the growth of the Loans' business.
You’ll have experience of working in areas of high regulatory focus and a sound understanding of the regulatory environment within Financial Services
You’ll know how to authentically lead, and you’ll use this skill to build a team around you that is growing, learning and committed.
