JOB TITLE: Group Regulatory Policy Manager

SALARY: £70,929 - £86,691

LOCATION(S): London, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Leeds, Halifax

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time in the office.


About this opportunity

Our team shapes and coordinates Lloyds Banking Group's regulatory policy strategy and advocacy, working with colleagues across LBG to provide constructive and timely input to the government and regulators. We’re looking for an enthusiastic expert and collaborative manager to join our team.

What you'll be doing:

  • Pro-actively identifying and defining regulatory policy priorities, views and engagement plans across your portfolio. 

  • Working with colleagues across the bank to provide expert analysis on the impacts of regulation on LBG, and proposals for how to engage on this with external stakeholders. 

  • Providing expert advice on regulatory issues. 

  • Drafting and presenting high-quality briefings, consultation responses, position papers, and committee papers. 

  • Horizon scanning and monitoring regulatory ideas, issues and debates externally, and updating internal stakeholders on these at pace. 

  • Providing support with cross team analysis and systems.

What you’ll need:

  • Expertise in one of the following is required: prudential regulation, conduct regulation or digital assets

  • A natural curiosity and desire to keep learning about regulation, public policy and the UK’s socio-economic challenges.

  • Extensive experience and technical expertise from working on financial services regulation, which may include or arise from a specialism in a particular area. Recent experience of capital markets, pensions, insurance and investment would be a plus.

  • Highly collaborative approach with excellent interpersonal skills and stakeholder management.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, comfortable presenting to a senior audience, and excellent organisational skills.

  • Commercially savvy with an appreciation of the LBG’s strategic objectives.

  • Numeracy skills and being comfortable with interrogating and collating data.

  • A proven ability to communicate confidently with external stakeholders and to deliver counsel to colleagues in compelling and authoritative ways.

  • A willingness to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment in order to meet urgent requests from both internal and external partners.

  • A commitment to fostering diverse, inclusive and high-performance teams.
