JOB TITLE: Strategic Finance & Workforce Planning Assistant Manager

SALARY: The salary banding is £39,825 - £44,250

LOCATION: Halifax, Newport/Cardiff, Birmingham, Chester, Manchester

HOURS: 35 hours, full time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

About this opportunity

Become part of a new and exciting team dedicated to shaping the future of Consumer Lending.

This role supports financial and workforce planning activities across the Consumer Lending business, with a focus on data analysis, reporting, and operational execution. You’ll work closely with the rest of the Finance & Workforce Planning team to ensure accurate data insights and reporting that enable informed decision-making and strategic alignment.

What will I be doing?

  • Create, maintain and update workforce data reporting and dashboards using tools such as Power BI, which will enable regular CL finance and workforce governance forums.

  • Assist in financial planning cycles for CL business areas, including FTE tracking and cost reporting.

  • Support recruitment governance processes and ensure data accuracy in workforce systems.

  • Collaborate with Finance and People teams to monitor workforce trends.

What you’ll need

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data reporting and visualisation.

  • Proficiency in Power BI and other reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Workday, Oracle).

  • Ability to interpret workforce and financial data and present findings clearly.

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

  • Comfortable working in a hybrid environment and collaborating across teams.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in financial services or regulated industries.

  • Exposure to strategic planning cycles (e.g., 4YOP, 6YOP).

  • Understanding of job architecture, skills taxonomy, or talent analytics.
