JOB TITLE: Assistant Manager, Regulatory Reporting & Analysis, 12 month Secondment

SALARY: as per pay range

LOCATION: Edinburgh Princes Exchange

ADDITIONAL LOCATIONs: Bristol Harbourside, Newport Tredegar Park

HOURS: Full Time, 35 hours per week

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least

two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

About this Opportunity

The Risk Weighted Asset (RWA) Reporting & Analysis team within Central Finance is responsible for calculating, reporting and providing valuable insight over the Group’s RWA and other regulatory capital information.

This 12 month Secondment offers an exciting opportunity within the Capital Planning and Regulatory community with technical support available to upskill if you’ve no prior regulatory experience!

Day to day responsibilities

These include:-

RWA Reporting & Analysis

  • Perform accurate and timely calculation of Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR)/Credit Risk (CR), Leverage and Settlement Risk exposures and RWAs – including the effective use of the Moody’s Ray calculator.

  • Produce and validate daily Leverage and monthly RWA and Leverage Returns across Off balance sheet, derivatives and SFT portfolios.

  • Analyse period on period movements, trends, identify anomalies, and provide commentary to team managers.

  • Support regulatory and internal reporting requirements.

  • Assist managers in the calculation, reporting and analysis of capital to support New Products and Strategic Transactions.

  • Maintain effective control frameworks to ensure robust outputs.

Technical Development & Automation

  • Develop and maintain Python scripts for data extraction, transformation, and analysis to drive and support Finance data transformation.

  • Build and enhance Power BI dashboards to deliver intuitive and interactive MI to stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with IT specialists and our core analysis team and our Data leads to improve data quality and ensure data integrity.

  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement across reporting workflows.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with Risk, Finance, and business teams to understand reporting needs and deliver actionable insights.

  • Present findings and recommendations to managers.

  • Support internal and external audit and assurance reviews, ensure all process have clear documentation and data traceability.

What you’ll need

  • Data Analytics: Proficient in excel and Practical experience of SQL/Python for data manipulation, analysis, and automation.

  • Visualisation:  Power BI skills for dashboard creation and MI delivery.

  • Data Management: Experience with SQL, data warehousing, and ETL processes.

  • Proactive learning: be proactive in learning or already understand the technical calculations and PRA rules governing Credit Risk, Counterparty Credit Risk, Settlement Risk. Such as UK CRR/Basel 3.1, EMIR, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.

And any experience of these will be useful:

  • Currently studying towards a professional finance qualification like ACCA or CIMA or willing to do so.

  • You can effectively manage your own workload by planning, organising and prioritising your tasks under time pressure with the ability to identify and implement flexibility in plans when required.

  • You have good interpersonal skills allowing you to collaborate closely with colleagues across teams, departments and levels.

  • You can implement change using a confident and collaborative approach.
