JOB TITLE: Senior Manager, People Performance & Enablement

SALARY: The salary banding for this role is £76,194  - £89,640

LOCATION: Bristol, Halifax, or Leeds

HOURS: 35 hours, full time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

About this opportunity

You will be responsible for leading and operationalising strategic initiatives that enhance workforce productivity, attendance compliance, and performance outcomes. 
Operating in a highly automated and eventually AI driven environment, this role will lead on ensuring advanced HR technologies and data analytics are effectively used to drive continuous improvement, operational excellence and better colleague experiences around attendance and performance processes.
The role holder will be expected to manage a global team of c.35 operational specialists to effectively support the business in the effective management of performance and attendance cases. The role will demand a combination of strategic, technical, human centric and judgement-based capabilities

What will I be doing?

  • Design and evolve an operational workforce that leverages AI, automation and new technology to deliver great outcomes to our colleagues, through leveraging the best of the technology without losing the human focus.

  • Take the lead in elements of bold transformation initiatives that integrate AI & agentic AI into the processes within the team.

  • Collaborate with the People Platform and Centres of Excellence to ensure seamless integration of tools and data flows – which are continuously improved for the benefit of line managers and other customers across the Group.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the capabilities and limitations of process automation and agentic AI tools in the context of performance and attendance case management.
    Performance Management:

  • In collaboration with the Centres of Excellence and Product Owners, design and manage performance reviews and feedback cycles, utilising data-driven insights to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement to help meet the Group’s performance goals.

  • Use your external network to bring the outside in to driving the continued transformation of the team, encouraging an innovative mindset to help drive an operational evolution into a future facing case management capability.
    Attendance Oversight:

  • Ensure accurate and compliant monitoring of employee attendance, leave, and time-off policies across Lloyds Banking Group.

  • Monitor absenteeism trends, ensuring People Partnering teams have timely and accurate data insight to proactively identify and implement required interventions.
    Compliance & Reporting:

  • Maintain compliance with employment laws and internal policies.

  • Work with the operational data team to drive out regular, insight driven reports for senior leadership on attendance and performance metrics and use these to drive strategic interventions and continuous improvement.

  • Data Literacy: Designs, develops and applies data and analytics experience in day-to-day role to drive effective decision making. Drives the team to become data-driven and use data in their day-to-day roles.

  • Non-Financial/ Operational Risk: Investigates processes, people performance and systems to analyse adherence with current frameworks. Provides recommendations based on experience to rectify impacts against the Groups' current strategies, products and customers to drive business outcomes.

  • Colleague Experience: Develops creative new solutions to a number of initiatives in the Group, using experience to advise on where to improve the journey. Understands how the Groups' strategy is empowered when people are placed at the heart of it and proposes new propositions to support this.

  • Strategic Leadership:
    Develop and implement tech enabled, colleague centric, attendance and performance management operational strategies aligned with Group goals.
