JOB TITLE: Senior Infrastructure Specialist

LOCATION(S): Leeds

HOURS:  Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site

About the opportunity

The Cloud and Security Lab are responsible for support of the Infrastructure Applications aligning to Active Directory the core Microsoft technology components that underpin the Lloyds Banking Group IT infrastructure, primarily production Active Directory (Global) and (Entra ID) Microsoft’s multi-tenant, cloud based Active Directory and Identity Management solution. In addition to our support and change delivery capabilities for production environments, we also provide equivalent support for the associated development and route-to-live Domain environment!

This is a Senior role and will blend both deep domain & technical expertise with great passion for coaching and developing people in a “player-coach” model including advocation for team wellbeing!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading support, maintenance activities and change activity across a team of colleagues looking after Critical Business infrastructure relating to the below:-Active Directory Domain Services (AD-DS), including knowledge of Active Directory Structure, Group Policy and Authentication methods, Name Resolution via DNS and WINS.

  • KMS and Active Directory Support Tools (Quest Change Auditor, One Identity Active Roles)

  • Work with Engineering Lead to prioritize tasks, break down work, set expectations, and ensure timely delivery.

  • Line Management of 7-10 Engineers from within the Cloud & Security Lab; including regular 1-1’s and quarterly Check-ins, driving towards high performance through the Bank’s Performance Management processes.

What you’ll need

  • Ability to task manage across a team of around 10 colleagues, prioritising work as required and ensuring high standards.

  • Ability to Line Manage 7-10 Engineering Colleagues from the Lab; driving high performance utilising the Bank’s Performance Management Framework.

  • Working with Cloud & Security Service Lead to help coordinate engineering actions for incident responses.

  • Specialist level of understanding of Active Directory / Domain Controllers as well as knowledge of Azure Active Directory Hybrid Identity

  • Experience of working and leading in a team environment but demonstrating an ability to self-manage pieces of work

  • Good communication skills are a major benefit, requiring the ability to communicate complex technical issues and solutions to a variety of Collaborators with differing technical knowledge

  • Passionate about customer experience and outcomes driven by technology

  • You'll also be required to participate in a 24x7 support rota for the supported platforms, and perform out of hours changes but outside of this we could consider working patterns that work for everyone.

And any experience of these would be really useful

  • A good understanding of Security & Compliance requirements in regulated environments.

  • Experience of Architecture Design notes and Governance.

  • Knowledge of other Active Directory / Identity tools such as Quest Change Auditor and Active Roles.

  • Understanding of Agile and Systems thinking.

  • PowerShell scripting.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

  • Good All-round understanding of IT Technology particularly in the Windows world as well as becoming specialists in Active Directory Technology.
