About this opportunity

Lloyds Banking Group is on an ambitious path to transform how we Make Britain Prosper. As we continue our transition to the cloud, we’re seeking motivated individuals to help us to drive the change.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Analytics Analyst to join a brand-new team redefining how we shape our Credit Card product and pricing strategy as we migrate to the cloud. This team plays a pivotal role in enabling transformative growth for one of the biggest Credit Card portfolios in the UK.

In this role you'll apply analytical expertise, software development skills, and business knowledge to deliver lightweight Python packages for business users, supporting our vision and not being limited by legacy tooling and static data. You’ll be hands-on, delivering tested and version-controlled packages, focused on business impact and delivery, whilst meeting governance expectations.

About us

Join us and, as well as making a difference to customers, you’ll enjoy a fulfilling career where you’re free to be yourself. Great colleagues, transforming workspaces, hybrid working and a wide variety of career opportunities – you’ll find them all here.

Here's how you'll make the difference in this exciting role...

  • Collaborate with your team and internal customers to deliver innovative Python tools that replace existing capabilities or establish new ones, unlocking new insights, increased segmentation, and faster speed-of-delivery.

  • Contribute to define ways of working in your team - balancing delivery with high-quality code, focused on driving through high-value change

  • Uplift skills by providing support for the tools you build whilst supporting a training agenda for the wider Credit Card team

  • Combine a deep understanding of internal customers with analytical expertise to design and implement user-centred technical solutions

  • Showcase the value of your data products to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Build a network of Data practitioners across Consumer Lending to influence the tools and platforms that Python developers use across the Group

What you’ll need:

Please keep in mind you do not need to be an expert in all the following areas – if you don’t meet all the criteria, you are still encouraged to apply! A strong will and can-do attitude can help overcome any areas where you might need some further work.

  • At least 2-3 years of experience creating package-quality Python tools using key data analysis libraries (e.g. Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn)

  • Specialised in using GitHub within a development team

  • Experience within a cloud-based environment (ideally Google Cloud Platform)

Desirable:

  • Prior experience developing tools within Financial Services

  • Experience with Data Science techniques (e.g. statistical modelling, unsupervised or supervised Machine Learning, generative AI)

  • A commercial understanding of interpreting product financials and Profit & Loss data

  • A broad understanding of the regulations and legal framework impacting the credit card industry

And it’s why we especially welcome applications from under-represented groups.

We’re disability confident. So if you’d like reasonable adjustments to be made to our recruitment processes, just let us know.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:
