JOB TITLE: Associate Director, Export Credit Agency (ECA)
LOCATION: London
HOURS: Full Time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least 3 days per week, or 60% of your time, in the office.

About this opportunity

We’re looking for an Associate Director to join our Transaction Banking Solutions team in a dynamic role focused on medium to long-term ECA related products across the Corporate and Institutional Coverage (CIC) space.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and entrepreneurial individual to help build and implement a CIC tailored ECA strategy. The role spans buyer credit across multiple ECAs, ECA project finance, untied ECA financing, aviation, UKEF EDG, and support for short-term ECA products. You’ll work closely with CIC sector teams, Infrastructure & Project Finance (I&PF), and lending execution teams to originate, structure, and deliver impactful ECA opportunities.

If you're passionate about customer engagement, strategic execution, and making a difference in global trade finance—this could be the role for you!

Your accountabilities will include:

  • Support the CIC Export Finance origination activity (including bringing new to bank clients) and develop outstanding relationships with CIC corporate clients, sponsors, ECAs, other banks and advisors in direct engagement on all Export Finance activity.
  • Ensure the successful structuring and execution of CIC ECA opportunities working seamlessly with teams across CIC in the execution of Export Finance transactions.
  • Find opportunities with the Sector teams and pitch ideas to clients (financial information research and business feasibility analysis, early engagement with ECAs and preparation of client marketing materials) as well as through other ECA banks.
  • Support ECA engagement in the financing of sustainability transactions and become a lead bank in ECA green financing supporting the energy transition.
  • Support the origination and execution effort in I&PF for project finance advisory and financing of projects with ECA debt tranches.
  • Develop strong internal connections, engaging with Product, Coverage, Credit, Asset Management, and Legal for strategic alignment.
