Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets (LBCM) is the Group's non-ring fenced bank, a wholly-owned subsidiary, established to support a stronger, more transparent banking industry for the benefit of our customers and shareholders.

Within LBCM Financial Markets, the Market Insights team are currently looking for a Rates Strategist to join them. You’ll be responsible for initiating, producing and presenting timely, relevant and engaging high-quality content on interest rate strategy for the bank’s institutional and corporate clients. You’ll assist other members of the Market Insights team (who cover economics and FX strategy) in broadening and deepening client and colleague engagement on market-moving themes and news developments via regular publications and ad hoc commentary and analysis.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for producing timely, relevant and engaging market insights on interest rate strategy for Lloyds’ institutional and corporate clients with a specific focus on GBP, EUR and USD rates markets.
  • Contribute proactively to producing and publishing the Market Insights team publications, including the Daily morning note, and ad hoc thematic notes.
  • Respond to client and colleague questions on market developments and investment themes.
  • Develop and maintain analytics tools to enhance the quality of rates market analysis offering.
  • Use your analysis to deliver actionable trade ideas within developed rates markets.

What you’ll need

  • Relevant experience either on the buy-side or sell-side working with developed market fixed income products and/or rates derivatives as a risk-taker or analyst.
  • Experience in GBP and EUR rates markets strongly preferred, as is a product specialism such as inflation for example.
  • Demonstrable passion for the global macro environment and financial market developments, backed up by strong technical knowledge and understanding.
  • Excellent analytical and quant skills.
  • Proficiency with relevant software such as Bloomberg, Macrobond or Reuters for example.
  • Proven track record as an effective and engaging communicator, both in written and verbal form.
  • Commercial acumen for delivering content that resonates and helps promote business objectives.
  • Team player with capacity to adapt and respond flexibly to changing priorities according to market events and business needs.
