Job description

JOB TITLE: Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

LOCATION(S): London, Leeds, Halifax

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: At least two days per week (or 40% of your time) at one of our offices listed above.

About the role

We are modernising with cloud, a platform that is quick, secure and resilient for customers: easy, modern and green for developers.

Our core technology focus is on Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.

We’re looking for a Cloud Engineer with strong GCP or Azure experience, focused on compute infrastructure, CI/CD and Terraform. You’ll help build secure, scalable systems and drive automation across deployment and operations.

About you

You will work collaboratively with the Engineering and Product Owner leads, in building, and executing our road maps, whilst participating in the planning, and delivery of our goals, driving prioritisation, escalate impediments, acting on learnings and demonstrate successes. You will be encouraged to participate in technical communities both internally and externally to advance shared capabilities and to be a role model and mentor early career engineers to advance their technical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

·Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of GCP-based infrastructure.

·Support incidents through an out-of-hours rota.

·Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Harness and Jenkins.

·Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform.

·Implement security guidelines and access controls.

·Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues.

·Engage in Agile team ceremonies and continuous improvement efforts.

What you’ll need  

·Extensive DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering experience.

·Strong CI/CD pipeline design and implementation skills.

·Experience with Windows & Linux VM base images.

·Proficiency in configuration management tools (e.g., Chef).

·Programming/scripting skills in Python, Go, Ruby, or Bash.

·Ownership of projects and successful delivery.

·Skilled in writing and managing IaC with Terraform.

·Experience in managing the full product lifecycle of compute services.

·Excellent communication skills.

·Adaptability in fast-paced environments.

In addition, any experience of these would be useful

·Hands-on experience with GCP and Microsoft Azure.

·Proficiency in writing modular and reusable IaC with Terraform.

·Knowledge of Cloud Security, KMS, PKI, and encryption.

·Deep understanding of Windows or Linux OS.

·Strong security mentality.

·Experience with monitoring tools and techniques
