What attracted you to applying for a role at Lloyds Banking Group?

As part of my MPhil at Cambridge I worked with the Lloyds Banking Group Innovation Labs for a 6 week consulting project. I was immediately attracted by the people, the culture and the values enacted within Group. I was honoured when I was given the opportunity to join such a talented and ground-breaking team and an organisation which focuses on being the best bank for customers, while embracing a digital culture and driving innovation.

Your current role

I am part of the Digital Development and Market Insights team, which plays a pivotal role in building the future digital competitive advantage for the Lloyds Banking Group. We are pathfinders, responsible for shaping the digital strategy of the Group, focusing on identifying trends in technology and in the market more broadly.

My role in particular involves keeping track of the latest competitor digital initiatives, driving a shift towards working in an agile way and helping coordinating the team’s volunteering activities - as part of the Group's continuing commitment to Helping Britain Prosper.

In addition to this, I am proud to work in a team which truly enacts its values and that focuses also on helping the wider society to develop its digital skills.


Travel: I take the tube to Mansion House and walk to Chiswell Street, glancing at St. Pauls and passing through the Barbican centre.

Morning: I check my emails and spend some time researching the latest news on digital.

I am working on a wide variety of projects, gaining a huge amount of experience. My days tend to involve supporting the team and the IDD director in building digital strategy packs, organising and leading meetings with colleagues across Group Digital and researching tech and market trends.

Lunch: I usually go the nearby market or shops to buy lunch and then come back in the office and have lunch with my team. This is an occasion to catch up and to have a laugh together.

Afternoon: After lunch I attend a few more meetings and one–to-ones to discuss my development.

I spend the remainder of my day creating material that is presented at the Digital Executive Committee; and I also influence the shift towards an agile way of working within the Group by supporting and facilitating pilot teams.

Hometime: I leave the office and go home. I spend my evening either playing my Ukulele, making origami items or planning the next fun team building activity.
